Ethiopia, often considered the birthplace of coffee, is renowned for its naturally processed coffee beans. Grown in the country's highlands, Ethiopian coffee is famous for its bright acidity, fruity notes, and floral aromatics. Naturally processed Ethiopian beans are dried with the fruit still on the bean, imparting a complex, berry-like sweetness and a rich, full body. However, Ethiopian coffee production faces challenges such as fluctuating weather conditions, limited infrastructure, and market accessibility issues. Despite these hurdles, Ethiopian coffee remains a beloved staple among coffee enthusiasts for its unparalleled flavour profiles and traditional cultivation methods.

Arbegona, which is a part of the East Sidama zone borderes Bona Zuria in the south, Bursa in the southwest, Oromia Region in the north, Gorche in the northwest, and Bensa in the east. Arbegona's largest town and its capital is named after a district name Arbegona.


Unlike other coffee-growing regions in the country, the altitude of this region is around 2,200MASL and its coffee is referred as a Highland Coffee.


The coffee is grown on tiny plots of lands in Arbegona highlands, benefiting from the region's high altitude it is more dens and smaller in bean sizes. The major cash crop in this region is coffee.
